"Very dishonest guy. Provided a quote for works I required, which I outlined beforehand. Upon visiting, he conjured up a whole list of works that needed to be carried out, and quoted an excessive price. It resulted in me paying £50 to avoid any sort of altercation. I would really avoid using this andray guy"
"We had a routine and non-urgent job. I asked for an hourly rate which they declined to say (and I should have seen as a red flag). When they arrived we were quoted £182/hr plus VAT which feels far above what would be considered reasonable. This meant we paid the call out fee and no work was completed."
"Incredibly professional service. Came for an emergency toilet repair and thoroughly diagnosed before providing a quote and worked diligently through repair, installation, and testing. Andre is super highly recommended definitely don't hesitate here."
"I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel it is important to share my experience so that other customers can make an informed decision before using this company. I contacted this company regarding what appeared to be a relatively small leak at one of my properties. As a property management company, we deal with maintenance contractors regularly and have extensive experience obtaining quotations and assessing repair costs. Based on our experience, the issue appeared to be straightforward and unlikely to require significant works. The engineer attended the property and carried out a brief inspection. Shortly afterwards, I was presented with what I considered to be an excessive quotation. I was quoted £182 plus VAT for the proposed repair, together with a £49 call-out charge. What was particularly concerning was that a simple issue was being expanded into a lengthy list of recommended works, many of which appeared unnecessary and disproportionate to the problem that had been reported. During the visit, it was suggested that pricing was being generated through AI-assisted software. Whether this was the case or not, the quotation did not appear to reflect the actual scope of work required. Instead, it felt as though a minor repair was being turned into a much larger and more expensive job than necessary. As soon as I reviewed the proposed works, I instructed the engineer to stop and informed him that I did not wish to proceed. I explained clearly that we operate as a company and that all contractor payments must be processed through our accounts department. I advised that payment would be made upon receipt of a proper invoice, which is standard business practice for any professional contractor working with commercial clients. Unfortunately, I was not provided with an invoice at the time and I felt considerable pressure to make an immediate payment. Despite explaining our company procedures, there appeared to be little willingness to follow a normal invoicing process. The situation became uncomfortable and, in order to bring the visit to an end and avoid further dispute, I paid £58.80. The entire experience left me with serious concerns regarding transparency, pricing, and professionalism. In my opinion, customers should be cautious and should always obtain multiple quotations before agreeing to any work. A reputable contractor should be able to clearly justify the work required, provide transparent pricing, and issue proper documentation without pressuring customers into immediate payment. As a company that manages multiple properties and regularly instructs contractors, we rely heavily on honest pricing and professional conduct. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I did not feel that the service represented good value for money, and I would not use this company again. My advice to anyone considering using this business is simple: obtain independent quotations, ask for a full written breakdown of any proposed works, and do not feel pressured into making immediate decisions or payments. Taking a little extra time to compare prices could save you a considerable amount of money. This review reflects my personal experience with the company and the service I received."
"Really great experience with Andray Reid my gas boiler engineer today. Arrived very quickly after calling. Repaired boiler quickly and was very pleasant and helpful throughout. Would recommend highly. Thank you!"
