Atelierdb Architects

"We couldn’t be happier with our experience working with David and his team at Atelierdb Architects. They supported us through full RIBA Stages 1–7 on a large rear extension, which involved demolition of part of the existing building, significant structural changes, and a full renovation of the ground floor. From the very beginning they were attentive, patient and professional throughout. During the early design stages we went through several iterations of the initial plans, and David was always happy to explore ideas with us, offering thoughtful guidance and creative solutions without ever making the process feel rushed. Their input and experience were invaluable in shaping the final design. The construction phase really highlighted the value of having Atelierdb involved through to completion. Having someone overseeing the works ensured everything stayed aligned with the design intent, and they picked up on several important issues during the build that needed changing — things we would likely have missed otherwise. Communication was excellent at every stage, and we always felt well supported. We’re absolutely delighted with the end result and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Atelierdb to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, creative and hands-on architectural team."

"David and his Atelier DB colleagues were fantastic, they came up with so many great ideas for our renovation. The combination of professionalism, communication, insight and willingness to help made him so easy to work with. Their ability to balance a practical build with outside the box thinking helped us build a fantastic home. They were always available to talk through ideas and explained the architectural world in layman's terms to a novice like me! Would highly recommend to anyone."

"I appointed Aterlierdb for all RIBA stages of a full renovation and extension of a mid terraced Edwardian house. David and his team were professional, worked very hard and were flexible when plans changed. The project became a complete rebuild of the house behind a retained facade including a small basement extension - a rather more complex project which Atelierdb accommodated. In addition, David and Angela went above and beyond in redesigning many parts of the construction to improve energy efficiency - non standard wall, floor and roof buildups, airtight membranes, details to reduce thermal bridging, triple glazed windows & doors etc. Atelierdb worked very hard to keep me happy! The final design also included an ASHP and MVHR system. The construction team overran substantially but David was present through the build and made many more site visits than anticipated. The result is a lovely home. It is light, spacious and practical. It is also very quiet and thermally efficient. The attention to detail in designing the fabric of the building is very noticeable. Atelierdb deserve a lot of credit for this. The fees were also very competitive. I would recommend them without hesitation."

"Atelier designed our basement extension (which morphed into a house remodel), guided us through the planning process, and helped with project management on the building. They were professional and meticulous throughout, and kept the project on the straight & narrow. Thank you to David and team!"

"I can’t recommend David and his team enough. They literally designed our dream home and did so under some challenging circumstances. Whenever a problem would arise, David worked tirelessly to make sure we were ultimately satisfied. He was great dealing with the Council during the planning approval stage and with our builders when the renovations were taking place. We are extremely happy with our decision to go with Atelier DB. We still marvel at the renovations that David and his team designed and receive effusive complements about our home whenever friends visit for the first time. I’m short, we are very satisfied and very grateful!"
