"He built a bespoke wardrobe, but the craftsmanship was appalling. The drawer wood was poorly cut, and in some cases, broken pieces were used. Gaps were patched with filler rather than properly joined, and the corners were left with rough, unfinished edges. Several areas had dents and snags, and the paintwork was rushed—no sanding was done, and the surface is littered with tiny paint bubbles. Overall, it was a shoddy job by someone clearly unqualified. I would never use his services again."

"Sam was hired to install a pre-built door frame, glass, and flashing onto the roof. However, the installation was marred by various issues. The roof is now leaking due to improper installation, and the glass in the door frame was not fitted correctly, resulting in a stuck door (pretty fundamental stuff...). Additionally, both the glass and the roof have deep scratches. He is now saying he will only come back to fix these issues if we pay him more - which we are obviously not going to do. Throughout the project, Sam displayed a lack of diligence and professionalism. He refused to address issues unless additional payment was provided, even for tasks that should have been included (which we ended up paying him more for and it wasn't like the quote was cheap in the first place...). For example, installing a door lock into a pre-made frame was done hastily and incorrectly, evidenced by a wobbly handle. The carpentry work exhibited poor craftsmanship, leaving numerous rough edges and damaging the beading around the frames which have taken me days to fix (as I am not a carpenter no do I have the tools) Moreover, Sam demonstrated a lack of accountability from the outset, acting as if someone else would complete the job afterward. His rushed approach to the project, contrary to the initially agreed-upon timeline, resulted in a subpar outcome. Despite the substantial cost, the quality of work was far from satisfactory. To add to the frustrations, Sam scratched a new expensive fridge during the process and left the sight a complete tip with rubbish everywhere. He also ignored multiple requests for receipts for the materials and added way more than we expected (which we payed), as well as in the end taking materials from sight that I had previously spent a lot on - which he has not returned and I have had to re-buy.... In summary, Sam's work was characterized by poor craftsmanship, negligence, and a disregard for the agreed-upon terms. The overall experience left us with lots of additional work and expenses. A complete cowboy. I strongly do not recommend. Utterly surprised by his ratings on Check A Trade!"
