Gilded Star Locksmith

"Needed help with my yale lock and these guys were brilliant. Called them up, got a clearer quote with no hidden fees, and the locksmith turned up within 40 minutes. Even gave me some tips on maintaining the lock going forward. Definitely using them again if I ever need to."

"This is a fake/scam company. Called for someone to pick a fairly basic lock. A technician arrived from a different company who did not have the skills to lockpick insisted on replacing the lock instead. The negotiated price was £274 (which is already high) but I was ultimately charged £411."

"As the highest reviewed locksmith in the area, I called them when the barrel of my door started spinning endlessly without opening the door, locking me outside. Gilded Star Locksmith told me on the phone it would cost me £59 plus the price of a new lock. I told them I would be on my way to discuss this (I had recorded a video to show them and wanted to choose the new lock), but when I arrived it turns out that they do not have a shop, and they didn’t tell me not to show up at the location on the map. So I have to go back home and wait for them there, having wasted my time going there. Someone else calls back and shows up 10 mins late. After I showed him the problem that I had recorded on video and explained on the phone, he tells me due to the new information and the model of my lock, the price is now £179 (excluding VAT and the price of the new lock), assuming that nothing else than the barrel is broken. Luckily after he drills through it no other issues are found and only the barrel is replaced. He gives me some advice, but cannot find the cause of the problem due to the drilling. After 30min I have a new lock and keys but am £272 short. The bill is to Pro UK locksmiths (apparently based in east London?), with no mention of Gilded Star Locksmith. Professional service, but misleading price and pin location on the map. Had I known this I would have contacted a real shop or negotiated a price with between different locksmiths before asking one to intervene."

""Called Gilded Star Locksmith this morning after my lock core started malfunctioning. Technician was punctual and delivered quick results. Work was satisfactory, price was reasonable. Would recommend their services to anyone looking for a good locksmith. 4.5 stars.""

"The service was really quick. I called for locks installation service after I misplace the last key for my house. I called and they came within half an hour and started to work immediately . Highly recommend this place"
