Gordon Dawson

"Gordon is excellent. Had three quotes from three carpenters/joiners. I knew right away I would pick Gordon and he didn’t disappoint. His attention to detail is second to none. He made a “hole” in the wall and fitted 4 old doors so now we can walk from the kitchen to the living room. The doors were old and warped and he somehow made it all work perfectly. We’re loving it. We’ve since had him back to fit some internal locks. I feel that for any job that I may need, I’ll be checking with Gordon to see if he can do it before I’ll be going anywhere else! Nice man too. Felt very confident leaving him doing his thing in the house."

"Over the last twenty years Gordon has made strong and beautiful cupboards, wardrobes, bookshelves, and a kitchen for me - using both reclaimed and new materials. He is very skilled and his work is always high quality. He designs excellent and creative solutions to solve difficult spaces and requests. Highly recommend!"

"Gordon carried out two larger jobs for me - fitting shelves in an existing in-built wardrobe and building an upper storage cupboard into a bedroom wall. He also sorted out some other issues, like replacing hinges and fixing handles. He is a professional whose work is exemplary, as he cares about every detail and brings his depth of expertise and skills to the tasks. Gordon was really thoughtful in his work and the final results look great and fit exactly what I needed. Thanks so much again!"

"Gordon is great!! We wanted to get some built-in shelves made for some alcoves in our flat, and he was very helpful and accommodating to make sure they ended up exactly as we wanted them. He worked around our busy schedule, and we love the end result. Would highly recommend"

"Gordon has worked for me several times. The standard of his work is extremely high. Because he is an artist and a craftsman the care and finish on his work is really fine. I was impressed by his ability to problem solve and offer innovative solutions in difficult spaces. I found him totally reliable and diligent on all jobs- completing in a timely fashion. I hope to employ him again in the near future to build a modular space for my front room. He is particularly talented at making bespoke storage and cupboards."
