"I should have read previous review on HB Scaffolding prior to engage in Geoff's service. Problems encountered: 1. Original agreed upon a price which was competitive but then twice increased by 50% after the work started. 2. Agreed on 2.5 platforms but then only erected 2 platforms which he blamed the laws. I have later learnt that it should not be the case. See the photos. My contractor have to use additional tools to work on the platform he built. 3. Communication was good prior to money transferred. After that, barely any communication. 4. Take ages to took down the platforms which affected my contractor work outside. 5. When take down the scaffolding, his team damaged 2 of my roof tiles. Email and chat to Geoff but no reply! My advice if you still decide to go ahead: 1. Have a written agreement on everything, even small details 2. Make sure he confirmed no surprise increase, ask him to survey the site in advance if necessary. 3. Do not pay everything upfront. Save some to pay after the scaffolding removed."

"It took 2 MONTHS of chasing to get the scaffolding removed. And because they insisted on full advance payment we had no leverage. Nobody was answering our calls or emails or text messages and when managed to get through we were promised "they were on their way". We were treated so disrespectfully and mocked around for weeks, whilst the property suffered from safety issues as any strangers could climb up and gain access. Not what you want when living with young children. Avoid using HB scaffolding, their competitive pricing hides an awful service."

"Hail the Best scaffolding firm, in the business, I have come across, as a London landlady, or the daughter of one/non-practising barrister, or as former Organising Secretary of Islington Conservatives, in 45 years, or like the pencil, “sharp and to the point”, HB Scaffolding Ltd of E15 Stratford, [not to be confused with HB Scaffolding Services Ltd]. Very fair rates, which Geoff Hall offers to match. I contacted 24 firms, mostly through Google, in the last few days and Geoff off Bark. He was a breath of fresh air and hungry for the work. Geoff and his co-director, Kenny, on site and their employee, Eddie, were most bright, pleasant and polite. Kenny and Eddie worked mighty hard, in the heat, from about 08:30 to 17:40. Eddie kept getting his tape measure out and thinking on his feet, to design the most useable and safe scaffolding. He has been doing this 10 years and is prepared to Work at 100 feet. Clearly very level headed and not on drugs, like many, sadly these days, the two went the extra two miles, to make sure everything was just right, such as the scaffold being tied in, to the building and my young, female tenants had no peeping Toms, by securing a metal scaffolding sheet, to the ladder with a chain and padlock wrapped around and double checked, after they were about to drive off, that he had left the keys, for the painter and decorator to access it, soon. Well worth the £1,100 + VAT for the front and L shaped back of a two/three storey house in Hackney and preserving the lives of my father and son team of builders from Jamaica, or South London, or falling and getting early onset dementia.
