"Staff helpful and friendly price is right well done will return"

"I went in to buy an 8x4 sheet of MDF, I wasn't asked what thickness, but admittedly I forgot to say I wanted 12mm. I paid for and loaded an 18mm sheet (Automatically chosen by the guy at the counter). When I got back on the job, I noticed the wrong size and went straight back. I was there back literally within 45 minutes of buying the 18mm sheet. I asked to change it for a 12mm, a song and dance was made that the boys in the yard need to check it, which they do and say it is fine/un damaged. I then go to the office to get what I presumed would be an apportioned refund. I am told I must get a refund for the 18mm sheet, and buy the 12mm one. Fine. I get refunded 75% of the 18mm sheet as I was told it was used. 45 minutes, on my roof rack, they knew this, yet 25% less when one could argue it was their fault for not asking what thickness MDF sheet I wanted. So, £32 refund for my £41 purchase. I then get asked to pay £42 for a 12mm sheet. So, 1/3 less MDF being purchased for £1 more. When I question this, I'm told 18mm is a common item so it sells for cheaper. Didn't know 12mm MDF was uncommon. No doubt they feel big, clever and smug making these little amounts on customers (Which I also have no doubt has made them millions, God bless them if so), but what they don't realise is, you cannot buy class or integrity. "The love of money is the route of all evil". Ironically, I start a conversion on Junction Road In October, and upon leaving the above scenario mentioned, I drove past, and then popped into Castle Timber. No one tried taking the piss there, so luckily there is another choice close by. I wish the owners at Kingsbury all the best, and I pray their lust for money gets satisfied in this lifetime."

"My favourite independent builders merchant, had an account with them for twenty years and am always taken care of from phonecall to delivery, every time. And it's very well stocked."
