Larissa Johnston Architects

"We are thrilled with the difference the design has made to our house and daily lives. Our aim was to transform the space to become more light, warm and sociable while still retaining some of the Victorian character of the house overall. The design has achieved all those things. The design and planning process all went smoothly and Larissa came up with a great design that maximised the space and looks seamless. Our friends and family are amazed at the transformation. Larissa also had some good contacts and we worked with the builders she knew from previous projects, which worked really well for us. We had a good experience in what could have been a very stressful time. We are really happy in our new space!"

"We have used Larissa on our home renovation project and we could not be happier with the service that she has provided. From the very start of our engagement, she has been attentive, considerate of our ideas and opinions, and yet able to push back (sensitively) when these ideas do not align with the overall design. She worked closely with us during the initial design stages, proposing a range of concepts of ideas that were then refined to the current design. The result is that our house is transforming from a collection of rooms that have been extended and bolted together over the years, to a design that flows nicely and really uses the space to it's full potential. The design has called for some fairly significant structural and layout changes, but Larissa was also able to recommend an excellent engineer to help with the structural design. We highly recommend Larissa and would strongly encourage anyone having doubts about using an architect on their project to speak with Larissa first!"

"I am very happy to give Larissa a five-star review. We have recently completed an extremely complicated, full-scale refurbishment of my house in central London. The minute she joined the team, I breathed a sigh of relief. She is a fantastic architect with loads of creative and thoughtful ideas, as well as having all the necessary technical knowledge and skill. She is also a lovely person to deal with; firm and assertive when needed (for example when negotiating with planning offices or builders) but always respectful and patient with her clients. Her style of working also suited us very well. We had lots of face-to-face meetings but often it was quicker to meet on-line when she would present drawings and make amendments there-and-then. We saved so much time working this way. I cannot recommend her highly enough for any project, big or small. It was great having her by our side during this lengthy and, at times, stressful, but ultimately extremely rewarding, project."
