"After a bad experience with my previous architect, I spent a long time researching firms before deciding who to use on my renovation project. I knew it wasn't going to be a straightforward, so getting the right architect was much more important to me than simply finding the cheapest quote. One of the reasons I chose Resi was their experience with similar projects in Lambeth. They showed me examples of comparable projects and their track record, which made me feel much more comfortable than simply being told they were experienced. Because of the nature of the project, Resi put me in touch with Nick Stockley. I'd spoken to quite a few architects by then, but I liked Nick's approach. He didn't tell me what he thought I wanted to hear; he explained in detail what was likely to give the project the best chance of securing planning permission, why, and answered every question I had. As this was my first project, I really appreciated the time he took to explain everything properly. Once the project got underway, Amar, the Project Lead, took over the day-to-day management. He kept me updated, stayed on top of things with Lambeth, chased progress when needed and quickly dealt with any requests for additional information. Communication was excellent throughout, costs were clear from the start with no hidden surprises, and the dashboard made it easy to keep track of drawings, documents and progress. "An update of our experience so far I feel like you get what you pay for. They were significantly cheaper than traditional architects and save costs where they can. We felt Resi were the best option for us at the time as we didn't have a massive budget and our planned works weren't necessarily ground breaking. We provided lots of information for what we wanted including a blueprint of our design. Our initial meeting was 45 in which they showed the design they had prepared. It was practically like for like what we had provided but all the changes they made had to be redacted back to the original because we realised this wouldn't be approved. We didn't really have a change to amend there design and charged us for amendments. We had 45 mins total meeting for our design for the whole house. Considering we had a 2 hour consultation independently with our kitchen designers and 1.5 hours for the bathroom, to only get 45 mins with Resi for our whole house seems very short! And yes, it was very rushed and having to deal with any changes over email is very difficult. We had to find lots of issues with the design ourselves and lots of reasons why it may not have been granted planning. We would have appreciated these to come from Resi and not us having to research ourselves. One of the selling points for us to use Resi at the start was because they offer price estimates for the works. Now, from our experience it was high level estimates with massive ranges and very expensive compared to the quotes we sought independently."

"Prior to proceeding I conducted a lot of research into companies providing planning services, there are dozens of companies! I spoke to a few, all offering similar services but Resi representatives went the extra mile to make me feel more confident in their services and abilities. "Planning approval granted for our home extension! Huge thanks to the whole Resi team for their support, expertise and responsiveness throughout the project. Before starting this I had absolutely no idea how much work – and how many stakeholders – are involved before you even get to the build stage. The Resi team made the whole process much clearer and far less stressful from day one. Resi Connect is another really useful feature, giving access to vetted partners and specialists which saved a lot of time trying to find trustworthy professionals ourselves. When we first researched options for our extension design and planning drawings, Resi weren’t the cheapest (though definitely not expensive either), but in hindsight they’re genuinely great value for the level of support you get. Having experienced professionals available to guide you through planning permission, technical drawings and all the steps before building starts makes a huge difference. Resi are a fantastic partner to have — with the architectural expertise, planning knowledge and network you need to navigate the process confidently. A genuinely great team to work with and we’re very grateful for all the help along the way. If we ever do another extension project, I’d happily work with Resi again."
