"I rarely leave reviews, but my experience with this company was so awful I feel compelled to warn others. I ordered Rustic A/B smoked oak, expecting beautiful, natural timber with character. What arrived was an absolute disaster: all the knots and natural features had been crudely filled with resin, resulting in boards that looked artificial, blotchy, and cheap — completely the opposite of the rustic, high-quality oak I thought I was purchasing. When I contacted the company to express my concerns, the customer service was appallingly rude and dismissive. I was spoken to in a condescending and unprofessional manner, making the situation even more frustrating. They refused to refund the delivery charge, despite the product being entirely unsuitable, and insisted on taking off extra for that was not my responsibility. In the end, they deducted £450 from my refund, leaving me feeling misled and cheated. I will be taking this further unless the full amount is refunded. The product itself was not just disappointing — it was unusable and nothing like the sample in the shop, and the way my complaint was handled was unacceptable, arrogant, and unfair, I was made to wait over a month for the refund. I cannot stress enough: avoid this company if you value quality, professionalism, or basic decency in how you are treated. Their timber may look appealing in the shop, but what you receive is poorly finished, heavily filled, and far from the quality advertised, and any attempt to resolve issues will be met with rudeness and unnecessary deductions. This was by far one of the most stressful and disappointing purchases I have ever made, and I sincerely hope no one else has to go through what I experienced."

"We purchased what we thought would be lovely wood for our new home, sadly we were left disappointed beyond words. The wood that arrived was unrecognisable; it couldn’t be further from what we decided on buying in the shop. We were then met with further difficulty when trying to refund the purchase, which is why I am here… Not only has this caused immense stress to me and my family, the lack of service and non-existent product has completely thrown our project with delays, financial stress and tremendous inconvenience. "I bought engineered wood 7 years ago to redo my ground floor and I am still amazed at the look of it : nice long and wide antiqued oak boards, that really look stunning ; the shop owner is very knowledgeable about the wood and stone he sells and will give you wise advice on the products you should use and the way you should lay it. I went to shop again this year (for the loft) and, after tiring myself in several shops I had to come back to that good old tiny shop in Chiswick where, to my surprise, I was recognized and greeted warmly by the owner ; I found the same wood again at a good price (especially if you compare with what you find at B&Q or Wickes) and it was delivered promptly a few days later. I definitely recommend that place."

"The review before mine made me laugh so hard I had to write this. I also experienced the full grumpiness and arrogance of the shop owner when I 'popped in' to ask about some flooring. It was if he didn't even want to sell me anything, and didn't believe I was interested in buying something. Ironically, I will probably go back and try again, as I did like what he has in store. 1 star for effort and customer service..... possibly 5 stars for his stock..... but that's unproven yet!"
