Customer Reviews
"In a neighbourhood thatβs been thoroughly colonised by Β£18 cocktails and bars that require a password to get in, the Bricklayers Arms stands defiantly, gloriously unchanged. This is a proper pub. No mood lighting, no QR code menus, no DJ called something ironic. Just good beer, and the kind of atmosphere that reminds you what going to the pub is actually supposed to feel like. The red paintwork gives it a slightly unhinged charm, and the bathrooms β oh, the bathrooms. A floor-to-ceiling masterpiece of graffiti, stickers and years of accumulated Shoreditch chaos. Chaotic, brilliant, and honestly more interesting than most of the art galleries round the corner. I spent longer in there than Iβd like to admit. Itβs not trying to be anything other than what it is, which in this part of London is practically a revolutionary act. Go for the no-nonsense pints, stay because you forgot what a pub without a mood board felt like. Five stars. The toilets alone deserve a mention on the cultural heritage register."
"Flat top burgers were great. Guinness was cold, atmosphere was buzzing. Proper pre match pub. We were from out of town and the staff and patrons were extremely friendly."
"We stumbled upon this place on a busy Thursday evening. We really enjoyed the cozy atmosphere upstairs and thought the beer selection and cocktails were delicious and well-priced. Definitely coming back!"
"I was here at 4pm on a wet Saturday afternoon and it was quite busy. They had three cask beers so I chose the Tribute at Β£6.60. Unfortunately it was off so I chose a London Pride which was rather average. This is a traditional pub that is not large. The walls, bar and some of the furnishings were red, reminiscent of a 1970s pub. The service was good and the barman very apologetic regarding the Tribute. This is certainly not a trendy pub."
"It was a very different experience. The beers were very nice and well priced. We went on a sleepy Tuesday so wasnβt too busy but Iβm sure it gets busy on the weekends. The toilets are something different, lots of graffiti but i does has its charm in some respect. I would definitely come back as the service was nice."
