"I was in Peckham with an hour to kill and I needed to eat, and I wanted to go somewhere that felt safe. I was passing this pub and I thought this will do. Turns out it's probably the best pub I've ever been to. The staff were not just nice but it felt genuine. I didn't have expectations for the food but what a chicken burger! I connected to wifi, don't know if it was theirs, but it wasn't slow in any way. Music was playing but quiet enough to have conversation or in my case watch youtube videos. Football was on but it was in the corner and I barely thought about it, not overbearing at all. Food prices were about £5 lower than I expected and the price my pint of coke seemed to be rounded down to the nearest pound. And above all I felt completely safe!"

"Excellent local pub - nice interior, garden & friendly bar staff. Roast was delicious, big portion & well priced. Trifle shots are unique and dangerously tasty! Pour a good Guinness too. Perfect boozer"

"I was in the Duke of Sussex during sunday roast service. Although I didn't get said roast I perused the menu and, seeing several come out during my stay, remarked on the low prices. The Manchester derby was on tv; there was a lively atmosphere with support being offered for both teams by the patrons. The pub itself was down to earth but still nicely decorated and looked after. Service here was warm, attentive, and friendly. Although I only had a lime & soda, some crisps & a half of murphys, the 1.5 hours I spent here on a Sunday afternoon has inspired me to bring friends back to sample the roast when they are available, it seemed like a fantastic pub!"

"What a lovely pub and what a lovely land lady. Proper pub with proper roasts at a great price. Warm welcome and interesting friendly mix of regulars. If it were more local I would be a regular I’m sure. Give it a go."

"WHAT A FANTASTIC LOCAL PUB WITH EXCELLENT FOOD. We have tried a lot of Sunday roasts in South London, but have to say THIS WAS THE BEST SUNDAY ROAST WE HAVE HAD, in a long time. The portions sizes were amazing, perfect temperature, tastes fabulous too, the service was SO GOOD AND FRIENDLY. We are definitely going back there to try the fish and chips on the menu.
