Thomas de Cruz Architects & Designers

"We live in Ireland but came across Peter’s company website when we were searching for contemporary design ideas for our living area.. We were really impressed by his work and the wow factor in all of his projects. We were looking to bring more light into our kitchen/living area and create a contemporary space that we could enjoy as a family. We also were looking to have more access to and visibility of our garden area. We started working with Peter during covid and we worked remotely for the entire project. Peter came up with really creative ideas that we would not have thought of. He created a design that maximised both the light and space in a contemporary modern vibe. On a sunny day the kitchen and living areas are flooded with light and we have great views of the garden from the kitchen and dining area. While we have only increased our living space marginally it feels way more spacious and the garden looks much bigger. It was a pleasure working with Peter and without his help we would never have got this amazing space. Our home has become this zen place that we enjoy at all times of the year."

"We are absolutely delighted with our design. Peter and his team have taken time to understand our vision bringing creative solutions we never would have thought of, entire process from initial concept drawings - visuals etc is smooth professional and stress-free. Highly recommended!"

"We first worked with Peter in the early 1990s. And we’ve been recommending him ever since. A year ago Peter completed the project for our neighbours on the other side of our garden fence. Across the road another one will be done by Christmas. Recently we had tea with our previous neighbours in another road to see Peter’s upgrade / makeover of their house which he designed for the friends of ours they bought it from. (It’s even better). I could go on…another four times at least. So why all these recommendations? And more importantly, why so many acceptances? Space. Peter has a rare talent. He can ‘see’ a property and its potential wow factor. We’ve been lucky enough to live in two of them for nearly 40 years. Every day is a pleasure because Peter’s vision creates a space you just can’t get enough of. With many little accents which enhance wellbeing. On Monday an electrician asked to use our lavatory to wash his hands after dealing with a garden light. “That’s clever” he said while admiring the half-mirrored slot window which brings in more light, let's you see yourself without cluttering the smallest room, and enables a proper basin instead of the Stark mini standard. If you’re looking for an architect with vision and the smarts to get it through Planning, then consider Peter Thomas de Cruz."

"We used Thomas de Cruz Architects for the renovation of our Victorian home and would highly recommend them. From the initial design stages through to planning and construction, they were professional, approachable and a pleasure to work with. They took the time to understand what we wanted to achieve and helped us develop a design that transformed our home while respecting the character and charm of the original Victorian property. The finished result is stunning. In fact, almost everyone who visits comments on how beautiful the house looks. As with any major renovation project, there are always a few aspects that, with the benefit of hindsight, you might approach differently, but the overall service, creativity and professionalism provided by the team were excellent. What has particularly impressed us is the level of support they have continued to provide long after the project was completed. Whenever building-related questions have arisen, they have been incredibly responsive and generous with their time and expertise. That kind of aftercare is rare and has been hugely appreciated. A talented team, great people to work with, and genuinely invested in achieving the best outcome for their clients. We would not hesitate to recommend them."

"Peter and the team at Thomas de Cruz restored and extended our home in Chiswick and the result was outstanding. Thoughtful, characterful design that respected the original house, paired with genuinely personal service throughout. They listened carefully, sweated the details, and were a pleasure to work with from start to finish. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them."
