"I’m struggling to reconcile these positive reviews with my experience in any way. Jon turned up on time but the quality of work was poor, he didn’t care at all - in essence he either sat in his car or went off leaving his polish colleague to do all the work. The work that Jon did do was the problematic work - he installed a pocket door which was too short for my son. He fitted a plasterboard wall which was filled so badly I had to get a plasterer to re do - the same with the ceiling. I had to get a proper carpenter to redo the door at the correct height. Other problems were using duct tape to tape up the doors (my son was actually taped into his bedroom while I was downstairs) - my bedroom was also taped up with my glasses inside. When the tape was removed the paint came off the doors. It would be funny if it wasn’t an indication of the work. After five full days my bathroom was little more than stripped with the addition of some uncertified electrical work and a new towel radiator and cutting down my door. After a week I stopped the contract but I lost the £3000 deposit I had paid."

"Jon has always been very helpful and turned up on time. His work on my artist studio house was exceptional. He fitted a new kitchen and new bathroom, complete with tiling and hanging a mirror, replaced the taps and the shower head and did a great job. He fitted a new oak floor in the kitchen and replaced all the units, by which I mean the worktop and the cupboards and drawers and installed the fridge and washing machine and dishwasher. Later, he came back to fox the bathtub where previous tenants has scuffed it, shave a bit off the front door so it would not scratch on the tiles and replace a broken window pane. His services are highly recommended."

"Jon was able to take a failed project from a previous contractor and manage historic building preservation, regulation in Westminster, a lack of parking, plumbing from the Victorian age, and a demanding client to deliver a beautiful result. I love my garden flat extension, it manages to respect the historic nature of a building from the 1840s while also adding amenities to be proud of in 2025."

"We used W8 Build to extend, remodel and refurbish our 1950’s house, turning it into our dream family home. John and his team managed all aspects of the build from demolition through to the finishing trades, it was a turnkey service. From the off we felt very comfortable working with John, a very knowledgable builder, where no problem is met without a solution, communication was instant throughout, pricing was competitive and any deviations to the original plan were worked through together and pricing agreed. We really enjoyed the overall experience and were very pleased with the end result as can be seen in the photos, we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend John and his team."

"We hired Jon and his team at W8build to excavate a 50 square metre basement under our existing house to create a new living room, bathroom and utility room. It was a very difficult job that most builders we spoke to didn’t even want to consider. Jon helped with all stages of the project, from planning to completion, and was helpful and approachable throughout. The end result is incredible, with careful attention down to the last detail. It is very difficult to find highly skilled and genuinely trustworthy builders but we feel really lucky to have found Jon and his team, cannot recommend them highly enough."
