"I would absolutely not recommend Warmans. I recently used them (John) to have a survey and valuation on a property done and they were inaccurate and unprofessional. I was charged £2500 and then was not even given the decency of a response when I had questions about the paperwork once it was completed. Furthermore, the valuation in the document was “according to the selling agent” and when asked for tangible justification for the price they gave us, they disappeared. In fact, I sent another two valuators in (including the bank), and they both came back and said they have absolutely no idea where or how Warmans was able to justify their valuation — which by the way, was a property increase of £600,000 or 39% from when the seller had bought the property five months prior. For such a massive and important purchase, you want to feel like you have an unbiased and trustworthy opinion. Shop around. There are lots of other companies in London I would recommend instead."

His report was detailed, practical, and worth every penny; I also greatly enjoyed being taken round the house by him after he had spent several hours inspecting it. He was ruthless in a very twinkling, good-humoured way, with the immediate consequence of my reducing the sum I was offering for the house by five figures. But he was also wonderfully reassuring, firm that painstaking work on the house would be worth it.
