"I worked on a completed roofing job under Freddy Woolner and my experience was extremely unprofessional from start to finish. Communication was consistently poor β calls and messages were ignored for days, and whenever concerns were raised, he would avoid contact or block numbers instead of resolving issues properly. He also had a habit of not turning up to site when he said he would, leaving jobs delayed and workers waiting around with no updates. At one stage, scaffolding was even struck while there was no safe way of getting up and down, which was completely irresponsible. Payments were never made on time, and I am still owed money for both labour and materials despite the client having already paid for the completed work. To make matters worse, he attempted to deduct 20% CIS from my invoice despite me being a subcontractor and not his employee. As far as I understand, his dissolved company would not even be able to operate as a CIS-registered contractor, which raised serious concerns for me about how he conducts business. What made the situation even worse was that after repeatedly avoiding my calls, I contacted his next of kin simply trying to get a response regarding outstanding money owed. Instead of handling the matter professionally, he responded by threatening to βmeet me with boxing gloves,β which I found more childish than intimidating. Overall, this has been a frustrating and disappointing experience. In my opinion, both workers and customers should proceed with caution and make sure everything is documented clearly in writing before agreeing to any work."
"Mr F Woolner, of Woolner Roofing, tiled our new roof. He completed everything from the bare rafters on, the plywood on the valleys, and the dormers laid the membrane, fitted 4 velux windows, battened out the entire roof of our new βvery complexβ roof , our new 5 bedroom house at 9 Trusses Road, Bradwell, Essex. Mr Woolner also prepared and laid the valleys, prepared and dressed all the lead as well as laying over 3300 large 420mm x 330mm roof tiles, very neatly cutting around hips, gables, valleys and skylights. I can highly recommend this professional company for any type of roofing. Reliability, attitude, quality and speed!!"
"Freddy and his team came to my mums property a week ago to fix a leak very friendly , efficient and left no mess would definitely recommend."
"We employed Freddy Woolner (Woolner Roofing "Specialists" Ltd) to repair and re-cover our garage flat roof which was leaking around the stack pipe. He left us with more leaks than when he started and didn't return to fix them despite our many pleas. Then 3 weeks later Storm Bert hit us leaving our garage completely flooded so we were forced to employ and pay another roofer to do the job properly. He even left a pile of rubbish in front of our garage doors which we had to clear ourselves to get in. I've had the most ridiculous response from him where he doesn't address the fact that he did not rectify his bad workmanship and accuses me of harassing him on social media. It did not rain or snow solidly for 3 weeks; there were many fine days and despite his promises he did not come back. Piece of advice Freddy : complete one job before moving on to the next! You refused to respond, then blocked me on Messenger, telephone and email. I was furious. What else could I do??? I paid you way over the one and a half days work you actually did do The roofers who came to my help did all the hard work, e.g. re-coating the roof where gaps were left, redressing and replacing leadwork, seating and putting back in place all the coping stones you had removed."
"I really don't want to write this review but it's becoming very frustrating dealing with this company. What was promised to take a couple of weeks has turned into a still incomplete job three months later. Hired teams rather than his own crew were doing our work, despite Freddy promising he would do the work himself. Sent a crew to blast concrete on a Sunday morning and when I stopped the team he said he didn't know you can't do construction work on Sundays in Ealing, which is where the company is based. Once I paid him most of the contract value, he just wouldn't bother returning my message or showing up to do the snagging list, leaving the scaffold in front of the house for months. Said he'd be here last week to inspect the work but it's a no show again, without any explanation or reply to my messages. A few photos to show you what you can expect from the quality standpoint. 3rd April 2024 update: the owner is still ignoring my messages and provided no communication since his no show last week. This is despite responding to my review here within a couple of hours of my comments. So the "inconvenience" of having an incomplete job with the scaffold in front of the house continues."
